Ian makes wine for the fame Joel Gott and has learned a ton (of grapes).
Ian McCaffery wanted to be in wine. He has not only a philosophy on making wine but where and how wines are to be served and presented. He currently makes wine for the famed Joel Gott and Gavin Newsome's Plumpjack winery. His own brand Station 26 was inspired by the lifeguard station in Santa Monica number 26 where he met his wife.
He was brought to wine as a young man by tasting with his grandfather and walking the vineyard with him to ascertain the grape quality. His wine education jump-started when he was tasked to inventory a private collection and started to wonder what the hype was all about.
Tune in to hear more about his journey.
